Gradiant – PRODUCED WATER PROJECT EXPANSION COMPLETE

Just over a year after Boston-based Gradiant commissioned its first commercial treatment facility for Pioneer Natural Resources, the company announced that it has expanded the system, increasing its produced water treatment plant capacity to 12,000 bbl/d. Immediately on the heels of that announcement, the company told WDR that it has completed a second 12,000 bbl/d produced water treatment facility for another exploration and production company, also in the Midland, Texas, area.

Both plants treat produced water from oilfield operations in the Permian Basin’s Spraberry/Wolfcamp shale formation, using Gradiant’s hybrid Selective Chemical Extraction (SCETM) and Carrier Gas Extraction (CGETM) processes. Anurag Bajpayee, Gradiant’s CEO, explained that SCE is an ion-specific treatment process that is customizable to meet a client’s effluent quality requirements.
