Sweetwater Energy – In The News: Sweetwater Energy gets help for new $53M plant
A Rochester-based renewable biomedical producer planning to use Minnesota timber as an alternative for products with petroleum and other materials wants to build a $52.8 million facility in the North Star State.
Sweetwater Energy last month received commitments of $26 million in various low-interest loans from the state of Minnesota to build a plant in Mountain Iron, a town of about 3,000 people in the northeast portion of that state. The facility is scheduled to open in 2017, with full-build-out expected sometime in 2020, according to paperwork filed with the Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation Board.
